As a Kensington child and family photographer there is nothing I love more than a beautiful family photoshoot in Holland Park, which is right on my doorstep. In summer it is just full of flowers, ornamental vegetables and shaded areas full of luminous light even at the brightest times of day.
Kensington family photoshoot
On the blog today is a gorgeous set of photographs from one of my latest child and family photoshoots in Holland Park, Kensington. Harriet had asked me to photograph her darling daughter Clara, 18 months old, after seeing another of my family portrait shoots in Holland Park. It was such a beautiful August day, and the perfect time to photograph Clara, who was just starting to walk - with help! It's a wonderful and very special age to photograph. As with all my family photoshoots I made sure to capture both some family photos and some individual child portraits of Clara crawling and exploring the park. My favourite spot is in the ornamental gardens with the low hedges bordering the flower beds, which work perfectly for keeping little ones in roughly one area and enabling me to get some absolutely magical photos as they crawl towards me.
These photos were all taken late in the afternoon, around 5pm, when the light is starting to soften, and turn golden. It's my favourite time of day for the very best flattering portraits.
