Kensington Gardens baby photoshoot
It is July in London and seriously hot! We got up early for this quick and simple baby photoshoot before the heat really kicked in, and made the most of the cool shade under the chestnut trees in Kensington Gardens. The long grass that has been allowed to grow in front of the Palace is obviously great for bees and other wildlife, but it is also so pretty for photos, being full of poppies, wildflowers and daisies, which provide such a lovely textured background to the portraits.
Mummy & Me photo session
This was 10 month old William’s first ever photoshoot, and the aim was to capture photos that reflected his personality at just coming up to one year old, and also as a surprise for his daddy’s birthday! I tend to do many more family photoshoots than mummy and me sessions, but it is always so lovely to solely concentrate on getting beautiful, flattering shots of mum with her baby. A session like this one only takes no more than 45 minutes, which is more than enough time to do a variety of different looks and backgrounds, with close up shots of baby, as well as portraits of mum interacting with baby. As always I especially love the photos where my subjects are interacting with one another in some way, rather than just looking at the camera!
William was an absolute darling and had been dressed immaculately in clothes perfect for his shoot. I loved photographing his curly quiff and toothy smile! Here’s a few of my favourites from this session.
