Chiswick baby photography

Meet gorgeous newborn Emilia, 8 days old in these newborn baby photos at her family home in Chiswick, West London. As always with my longer newborn sessions I took a mix of family photos and gently posed newborn portraits using soft and simple wraps and blankets in gentle colours. Emilia's mum is a fan of sweet headbands, so we used a few of those too. My approach to newborn photography is very relaxed and baby-led, with plenty of breaks for feeding and changing. All the photos here were taken using natural window light in their Chiswick home; it's amazing how soft and beautiful this light is, and perfect to highlight a new baby's tiny, delicate features.

We also took the chance to take some photos of Emilia's big brother, Theo, playing with his dad whilst baby was being fed. It's lovely to take the opportunity to reinforce an older sibling's importance in the family whilst they're adjusting to life with a new baby around! These sort of lifestyle photos are always so much fun to capture too.
