To say I am in love with this sun-kissed, golden set of photos would be an understatement. It's hard to believe this beautiful child is only 7 years old; she seems to have such an old soul. I hope I managed to capture some of that in these photographs... one minute you can see the baby-faced child she still is, the next a glimpse of the woman she will become.

These sunlit fields in Ojai, California, were the perfect setting for this session, and having grown up in Mississippi, Payton was completely at ease in the 100 degree heat (the same could not be said for this London photographer!) I think most of all I love those special moments in the soft dusk light where she seemed to completely forget I was there...
