We have been getting some amazing crispy, crunchy autumn mornings, and even though we are almost half-way through November there’s still lots of autumn leaves around in London! There’s lots of rain showers about too, but when the sun appears, the light is just magical! We we in Battersea Park early one morning his week for a family photoshoot with cute-as-pie baby (turning toddler) Emmie, who is about to celebrate her first birthday! We were so lucky to find all these brightly-coloured autumn leaves from the plane trees in the park - Emmie was up to her knees in them! I know it is risky to have a photoshoot at this time of year because the weather is so unpredictable, but if you can, it’s well worth taking the risk for gorgeous photos like these. It also really helps being able to fit in a shoot during the week because the parks are so quiet compared to the weekends, and I can be a little more flexible with my schedule so we can work around the sunshine. That said, Emmie’s mum booked this mummy-and-me session two months ago and just got lucky with a beautiful day!
Bump to baby photography
This was my second session with Emmie’s mummy - the first being just over a year ago for her maternity photoshoot! That session was also in Battersea Park, although during the summer months.. It’s crazy how time can fly by, and Emmie is barely even a baby any longer! It’s a good reminder to remember to take photos, whether by a professional photographer or otherwise, as a record of kids growing up over the years. Their first birthday is definitely a milestone worth recording! I love the variety of photos we got here; of Emmie walking - almost! - by herself, being cuddled in mummy’s arms and exploring in the leaves. Here’s some of my faves from this shoot.
