Whilst I am known for my outdoor family photography, I am also commissioned for indoor family portraits at home, particularly for newborns or young babies that are under 6 months old and not yet at the sitting stage. Indoor photography lends itself particularly well to this age range, especially when there is another sibling to take into account. At home photography is also a great option when it's rainy outside, and perhaps more than anything else it is just so convenient for my clients!
At home family photography
These family portraits included 3 month old baby Enric and his older sister, 3 and a half year old Julia. They were all taken at their family home in Kensington, West London on a fairly grey, overcast day. However, you can see how soft and pretty the window light it - perfect for flattering, gentle skin tones. As always I use only natural light in my photography. Often the best spaces are where the windows are largest and I will normally have a little look around your home before I start, to look at the light and all the options. Here we used the kitchen and the master bedroom for most of the photos which were full of gorgeous natural light.
Children's portraits
It's always amazing to me how varied children's expressions are even in a very short space of time; Julia was full of energy and had an incredible range of natural expressions! These look particularly good as a fine art print collage and you can see the design I put together below. Enric was pretty snoozy throughout the session, which didn't matter in the least and allowed us to capture some peaceful images of him asleep.
