Whilst my children's portrait photography is always very simple and natural, it's great fun to include a few props now and again! Toddler Allegra was celebrating her first birthday and her mummy made the most of the occasion by bringing along bubbles, tutus and pearls for our photoshoot in Wimbledon Common!
Children's portraits in Wimbledon
Wimbledon Common in South West London is such a lovely spot for family photoshoots in the SW19 area and nearby; this session was held first thing in the morning around 8am to make the most of that soft gorgeous light. Mornings often work really well for children this age and there were only a few dog walkers around - before the Park Run got started that is! - so we had plenty of uninterrupted space to ourselves. Allegra was so patient as we changed her into different outfits and loved the dewy grass between her toes and playing with the bubbles! As babies reach their very first birthday it’s a wonderful milestone to photograph.
London family photography
As well as it being Allegra's birthday, this lovely family had just moved to London from South Africa, so this was their very first family photo shoot in London. Although this session was largely to photograph little Allegra, there was still plenty of time for some family portraits of her with mummy and daddy and with each parent individually.
