As a London-based child and family photographer, I spend a huge amount of time exploring London to find the very best locations for my outdoor family photoshoots. This lovely family from Fulham, SW London, asked me to photograph their darling son Wilhelm, aged 20 months and I knew Richmond Park in SW London would be perfect. The Heuer's had just welcomed a new baby boy into the family, but this particular session was all about Wil. The soft morning light in Richmond Park was gorgeous, even on an overcast day, and the winter backdrop of golden bracken, oak trees and muted browns works so well for boys.
Children's portraits
We had a wonderful time exploring and playing in the leaves, and hiding in the bracken, which enabled me to capture beautiful, natural photos of Wil. I love how we captured so many precious expressions, including his very cheeky nature, as well as more pensive moments. As always, it is lovely to include well-loved toys in photographs too, as they are such an important part of childhood. Here's a few of my very favourite portraits from our photoshoot.
