Patricia contacted me after a long search for a romantic outdoor pregnancy photographer in Surrey and London. She had asked her husband for a maternity photoshoot as a birthday gift to celebrate both her pregnancy and her 40th birthday! In Patricia’s words: “it is such a special time for us and we want to record these memories in photos so we can show our baby girl how excited and happy we are expecting her arrival.”

As always I love to help expecting mummies choose what to wear for their pregnancy photoshoot. I’ll encourage clients to send ideas or photos and I’ll happily give as much input as needed I will often send images for inspiration too. We decided on this gorgeous crochet cream dress for Patricia’s maternity photos, which was so pretty and romantic - perfect for this outdoor session. Cream is always a great choice as it’s flattering on so many skin tones and will always fit well in organic, natural locations.

I specialise in beautifully-lit, outdoor pregnancy photos. As fellow photographers will understand, it is so exciting to find the perfect meadow for sessions! This gorgeous field was the perfect spot for Patricia’s portraits and the light at sunset so warm and delicious. As with most of my clients, Patricia was initially nervous and unsure in front of the camera - but you would never know it looking at these photos! I see it as part of my role to encourage clients and help with practical suggestions so they look their very best and lit by pretty, flattering soft light.
