It's early October and amazingly there are still flowers blooming in some parts of London! It's just a question of knowing where to look. One of those places is Chiswick House in West London which is a wonderful location for outdoor pregnancy photography - in the early morning there is barely anyone there apart from a few dog walkers. For those of you who have never been, Chiswick House is a beautiful Palladian villa set in historic gardens inspired by the villas and gardens of ancient Rome. It definitely has an Italian feel! I love the long walkways and Cypress trees around Chiswick House itself and of course the beautiful rose garden around the conservatory. It's amazing that there are still flowers in bloom even at this time of year, which provided the perfect backdrop for Antonina's maternity photo shoot.
Pregnancy photography
It is definitely starting to get chillier now in the mornings! We could see the mist rising from the flowers as the sunshine warmed the gardens which was so pretty. That said, a scarf or wrap is a great addition to an outfit for pregnancy photos for this time of year, just to keep you a little warmer. We were particularly lucky that the conservatory just happened to be unexpectedly open at sunrise on the day of the photo shoot, which meant we could escape the cold and take some gorgeous portraits in the luminous light inside. Antonina beautifully styled her own hair and make up, but clients often arrange for this to be done professionally. I usually recommend scheduling your maternity session to take place from around 28 weeks to 34 weeks, depending on the size of your baby bump and mobility. Antonina was 29 weeks pregnant here.
