Ah, it is always such a treat to be commissioned for yoga photography in London! This gorgeous sequence features Eva, a yoga instructor based at TriYoga, and her beautiful strong practice.

We had the most delicious warm summer light for our yoga photoshoot, which were all taken at sunset in the Italian Gardens and around Kensington Gardens, West London. The area around the fountains in the Italian Gardens is perfect for yoga photography as it offers a even, firm surface for poses and lovely lines. I love the sparkling water of the fountains in the sunlight too - and by happy coincidence Eva’s purple yoga pants perfectly matched the purple flowers blooming!
Yoga photoshoot
Yoga photography is a collaboration between the yogi and the photographer - in the planning of the session I will be keen to understand what you hope to achieve and will often suggest you prepare a list of poses that reflect your practice. It’s a great reference point during the photoshoot and I can advise what yoga poses work best on camera. I will of course have plenty of ideas too (it is fair to say I am a huge fan of backbends)! My goal is to capture the energy of the yogi I am photographing, through their poses and expression, to create the most meaningful and beautiful images.
My style of yoga photography
As with all of my photography, my style is soft, warm and beautifully-lit - lending itself perfectly to the female form. I work with yoga instructors and yoga studios and would be thrilled to hear from you if you are interested in my style of yoga photography.
