We had so much fun during this late summer family photoshoot with Laura and her family from Raynes Park, South West London. We decided on lovely Wimbledon Common for our session and we were blessed with a gorgeous sunny morning full of warm delicious light. I've photographed 3 year old Leo and 2 year old Rosa before and it was wonderful to add another set of photos to the family album now they are a year older - they change so quickly at those young ages. It was also so lovely to see how much closer they are now, with older brother Leo being so sweet to his little sister and not wanting to be left out of any photos with her! No posing or bribes needed for these two to be photographed together!
Family photoshoot - wardrobe ideas
My outdoor family photography is always very natural, with a mix of posed group photos and unposed, natural interaction. It's worth giving some thought to what to wear so that your clothing reflects that natural style and to make sure it suits an outdoor environment. Here mummy Laura decided to go with a simple colour palette of pastel blues, off-whites and denim, which was light and summery with just enough detail to add interest and tie it all together, without being "matchy-matchy" in the least. Laura herself opted for skinny jeans and a pretty top, which is a practical choice for running around and picking up 2 year old Rosa! We also did a wardrobe change for Rosa part way through into a sweet turquoise dress which she won't fit into next summer, although towards the end of our shoot she decided she just wanted to strip off and run around in her Hello Kitty pants! She was absolutely delighted to be semi-undressed and pleased as punch - she had us all in fits of laughter! Those photos are for mummy and daddy only, but here are some others from their family photoshoot.
