Professional pregnancy photography is becoming more and more popular in London and it has become one of my most sought after types of portrait sessions. Gerta, featured below, travelled all the way from Essex for her maternity photo shoot in Holland Park! She particularly wanted outdoor pregnancy photos in a natural setting and my typical sun-kissed style of photography. Thankfully, despite lots of rain recently, we had a beautiful evening in early May to work with!
Professional pregnancy photos
It's very common these days to document pregnancy with selfies and iPhone photos, which is a great way to record your changing shape and growing baby bump! However, there is something particularly lovely about taking the time to have professional pregnancy photos taken - not least because a professional will take flattering portraits in beautiful light and help pose you to show off your bump and curves - and minimise any perceived body flaws (we all have them!) Professionally-taken high resolution images also have the advantage that they can be turned into gorgeous prints with perfect colour accuracy, and can make a beautiful statement piece for your walls at home.
Pregnancy photo shoot dresses
I love Gerta's choice of a soft flowing satin gown, which photographed beautifully in the early evening sunlight. Long dresses always seem to look particularly elegant for maternity photo shoots, without necessarily looking 'overdone'. I often help clients decide what dresses might work best, taking into account what style they particularly like and the chosen location. Gerta also brought with her a few flower crowns, one of which you will see below, although ultimately we decided that the natural look worked best!
